Will Ackerman - Founder of Windham Hill signs Hat

The Windham Hill Hat finally got the BIG signature. 

After much loitering in the Windham Hill County area the Hat found Will Ackerman (Founder of Windham Hill) hosing his garden.

 

Will was only too happy to sign the Hat for our cancer support charity Spa4thepink.org to raise a motza at the charity auction during the Fiona Joy Hawkins and Trysette  (Two Grand I'm Yours) concert in LA.  Read details in the About the HATS blog. 

We just kept taking pics cause Will was so photogenic and hysterically funny at the same time.  You just can't get too many photos of a famous person or too many famous signatures on any one HAT.  We now have nine signatures with plenty yet to come.  Go Hats! 

Aussies & Hats do LIVE TV in New York

I'm slightly embarrased, the Windham Hill Hat was a little unrooly during the LIVE TV show in NY...... The POP Hat (fortunately) maintained its cool.  Our Aussie girls looked FABULOUS and held it together.

After the show, the Hats featured in a a lengthy photoshoot (mainly because they are so photogenic) with Host Rina Valentin and are hoping to raise even more money for Spa4thepink.org now that they are famous in the Big Apple. The show went live to several states including New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut......... we were all rather chuffed at our 10 minute opportunity to chat about the tour, the charity and of course, the now famous HATS. (in-famous in the Pop Hat's case)

Hat visits Sony in NY

The Hat was bold and brave and decided to waltz into Sony Music where the Windham Hill label now resides to scout out Isadar in the hope of yet another signature.  And thank goodness it did.......  Wait till you read about the new Windham Hill memorabillia given to the Hat! 

It was an AMAZING adventure because not only did the Hat find Isadar, who had just released an album recorded with Will Ackerman at Imaginary Road Studios (currently #2 on the ZMR Charts).     But further to that..............suspense, anticipation.  Keep reading down the page.

The Hat was given a 30 Year Annivesary Windham Hill set of CDs complete with 18 Windham HIll signatures from artists like Liz Story, Phil Aaberg, Will Ackerman, Samite and lots more (the Hat needs to ask Will to decipher the signatures as its sure George Winston is there also).

AND.........it doesn't stop there.  The Hat also was given four Windham Hill videos - all these videos would be worth over $100 on ebay and are very rare indeed.

Liz Story signs Hat

Liz Story

The Hat is rather chuffed.  Adding Liz Story's signature was a highlight for the Windham Hill Hat who ear-marked Liz as one of the 'biggies' (I think the Hat was star struck).   When Liz played Escape of the Circus Ponies on her Steinway piano in her home studio the Hat nearly lost the plot and forgot why it was there.      

After all these photos, the hat (who is quite    photogenic) got a bit narky about always being a 'prop' and said it wanted some SOLO portrait shots.  So here is the HAT with all the signatures - it calls them Hat Tats (trying to be cool like the POP Hat)........ but its not working!

LIVE TV & POP Hat gets winning signature :)

It was bound to happen.  The POP Hat asked Trysette herself to sign........

Our two Auzzie Hat companions Trysette & Fiona have had a big day doing LIVE TV on the Fox 10 Mmorning Show in Phoenix ........ (actually it was the news) !!!!  working extra hard, while the Windham Hill Hat and the POP Hat had a pool party.  NOT Fair.

We noticed that the POP Hat was drinking a LOT more than the wholesome W.H. Hat but we can't confirm the percentage of vodka in the cocktail.   They got down and cosy after too much sun and too many hours without sunscreen - and too much alcohol (we suspect). 

Introducing the POP Hat

I would like to introduce our POP Hat extraordinaire - a Hat with lots of attitude, some really cool friends and just the right amount of drive to get as many famous celebrity signatures to raise money for the  Spa4ThePink auction as possible!.  (details below)

The two Hats have become quite good mates already and are plotting and scheming some crazy adventures. - like driving from LA to Phoenix TODAY - its 109 degrees!.  The Hats have extra water and lots of sunscreen for the trip and will not listen to sensibility and fly like everybody else.

Trysette has had to be quite specific with the POP Hat that name dropping isn't cool and to stop bragging about the first signatures .........  Here is a video of our new celebs.

Hat goes to WRONG HILL

Yesterday was a big day out for the Hat......... I tried to tell the Hat we were at ORANGE HILL and not Windham Hill, but it wouldn't listen.

There was a lovely piano there, even though it was orange (which was a little weird) and the Hat was asked by Management to stop playing as the patrons were busy listening to piped top 40 on the CD speaker system. :)  Fortunately the Hat was obliging and didn't embarass anyone.

                                    

Tomorrow we are all off on a road trip to try and find some more Windham Hill signatures. Rumour has it that POP Hat is schmoozing with some pretty big POP/Rock and Roll celebs in a Studio City recording studio tomorrow where Trysette is putting down a few new tracks for an album she's working on. 

The POP Hat will make a grand entrance to the blog tomorrow we hope, but don't get too involved cause I hear the Hat is a bit of a party animal and mixes with a whole different circle of friends than our wholesome Windham Hill Hat who just WANTS TO FIND WINDHAM HILL. 

Be patient hat, we will get there..............

So...... we have a problem.  This may be a US Army Safari Hat, but its definitely got an Aussie sense of humour..........  I'm so over taking photos of the Hat posing on the prettiest girls it can find.  MMMM.

The second Signature.....

Okidokie, our very own tour person Fiona Joy Hawkins (with several albums produced by Will Ackerman) is the second signature.  Due to the need to draw something she has put a cow on the underside of the brim.  Good one - perfect, lots of cows love Windham Hill!  (we will try and get a pic of that)  .........

Hat invites celebs......

The Windham Hill Hat has chosen a celebrity to conduct the auction at the Two Grand I'm Yours Concert with Fiona Joy Hawkins and Trysette in LA on the 8th September.  The lucky nominee is DAVID BIBER (Two Guys Grilling) - Yay - (rumour has it he's Heff's chief BBQ guy).

To be honest,  I'm not sure if the W.H. Hat is male or female?  So the whole 'playmate' thing may hold absolutely no excitement whatsever - or the Windham Hill Hat may even be asexual - what an interesting thought - and then we would all be totally confused.  I do know however that the Hat has extremely high moral standards and is planning to raise money for Spa4ThePink (cancer support charity) - a very HIGH Hat indeed!

Hang on a tick, another rumour has just come in - apparently there will some BIG celebs attending the above event........and Fiona says she is not in love with Tom Cruise as she just got married, just in love with his acting style (yeah right).  Trysette says Fiona has lost the plot.

Groupie Hat gets signature

The Windham Hill Hat is feeling pretty chuffed.  After a seek and find mission around LA the Hat stumbled on a Will Ackerman produced muso from the new generation of Windham HIll artists on The Gathering   (If you liked the Windham Hill Samplers then this album is a MUST HAVE).

This is an historical event......the first signature: Kori Linae Carothers.  Rumour has it the Hat (a die hard groupie who Trysette still thinks is a stalker) got a bit fresh with Kori, but he's settled down now and on another seek and find mission - I believe he found two other amazing artists from the Ackerman stable in LA...........

About the HAT.......

The Windham Hill Hat and the POP Hat plan to journey across the USA to seek out various Windham Hill musicians and new generation artists from The Gathering (a compilation of 22 musicians handpicked by Will Ackerman - Founder of Windham HIll).  The POP hat also has some famous friends but is much darker and shadier character!

The WH  HAT is a HUGE Windham Hill groupie  and in an effort to be true to its New Age spirituality and goodness of heart, wants to be auctioned off at a Two Grand I'm Yours Concert at the Scherr Theatre at Thousand Oaks on the 8th September to raise money for www.Spa4ThePink.org (a cancer support charity).   There is also some VERY rare WH memorabilia included with the Hat (read about on the Hat goes to Sony Music blog).  The POP Hat is just happy to go along for the ride incase it can get into some trouble along the way or run into some serious fun.

RARE Windham Hill Memorabilia includes 4 unopened WH DVDs (Winter, Western Light, Autumn Portrait and Solace)

The hit list for signatures and photos is extensive and includes many of the artists that were on various recordings released by Windham Hill and the 22 new artists - I don't think the Hat will achieve a clean sweep - so we are aiming for 20 signatures.  Surely that will be possible?
The Hat is fairly determined (I have tried to reason) and won't listen to sensibility, lets just hope the Hat stays on the straight and narrow and doesn't get entangled with Fiona or Trysette and their crazy antics Watch HERE
